His soulful and sometimes raspy voice, along with his powerfully controlled crooning, has Rev. Lawrence Thomison dubbed as Gospel’s quintessential traditional male vocalist. Rev. Thomison has been singing the Gospel for over fifty years throughout the United States and internationally. He is a GRAMMY® nominated artist for his acclaimed NEVER LET GO OF HIS HAND album and the winner of three Rhythm Of Gospel Awards.
Rev. Thomison released his GOING TO CHURCH (LIVE) album in 2019 that included the hits “I Can Go To The Rock” and “He’s Coming Back.” He is now releasing to radio and as a single, his fan-favorite song from that album, “He Straigthened Me Out.”
“He Straightened Me Out” was written by the late Dewitt Johnson and produced by the late legendary producer Derrick Lee. The single personifies Rev. Thomison’s home-grown vocals and spirited performance style, laced with a blues-inspired delivery. Thomison commissioned the powerhouse voices of Cedric Sesley and Out For Souls choir to provide the backing vocals that drive the song to a tremendous, spirited high.
“He Straightened Me Out” lyrics flow as a testimonial of a life that may sometimes have mistakes and challenges. Thomison encourages us to know that God is a forgiving God who will make all things well.
“He Straightened Me Out” is now available on all digital music platforms and is currently playing on Gospel radio.
