GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Lucky Daye has officially released “Talk To Me,” the latest single from his highly anticipated forthcoming studio album, ALOUD!. The project is scheduled to arrive on October 16 via Warner Records.
Driven by psychedelic guitar arrangements, 1980s-inspired percussion, and a deep, hypnotic groove, “Talk To Me” showcases Daye’s signature blend of live musicianship and fearless experimentation. The track captures the palpable tension of wanting to salvage a connection when communication breaks down, turning a missed call into a final, rhythmic plea.
Thematically, the forthcoming album title ALOUD! plays on the tension between the words “allowed” and “aloud.” The project actively rejects the notion that artists require permission from the industry, peers, or themselves to take creative risks.
“ALOUD! is really about being allowed to be exactly who you are,” Daye shared regarding the album’s concept. “For me, it means speaking your truth, breaking the rules that don’t serve you, and not shrinking yourself because of how somebody else might see you. I wanted to make an album that feels freeing—and hopefully gives people permission to feel free as well.”
Marking his full step into unchecked creative freedom, the 15-track album boasts an impressive roster of guest features, including Pusha T, Muni Long, Leon Thomas, Akeem Ali, and Atlanta rock band The Paradox. The project brings Daye’s expansive musical vision to life alongside his trusted longtime collaborators, including powerhouse producer D’Mile.
The album’s momentum is already heavily established. Daye’s previous single, “Nowhere Fast”—his first release since officially joining the Warner Records roster—has already successfully climbed into the Top 20 at R&B radio.
To celebrate the impending release, Daye recently headlined a sold-out Billboard Live! showcase in Brooklyn to kick off New York Fashion Week. Looking ahead, he is set to join The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles on October 14 for their esteemed The Drop series, which will feature a candid discussion and a special live performance.
Outside of his solo efforts, Daye continues to serve as one of contemporary R&B’s most sought-after collaborators. He recently reunited with Leon Thomas on the sultry track “Fly U Out,” and secured a 2026 MTV VMA nomination for Best Collaboration for his work on Teyana Taylor’s “Hard Part.” His recent collaborative run also includes work with Chris Brown (“Slow Jamz”), Alessia Cara, Tori Kelly, Tank and the Bangas, and Leven Kali. Earlier this year, he joined Ms. Lauryn Hill for an all-star tribute to D’Angelo at the 68th Annual GRAMMY® Awards.
