By uGospel News Desk Jul 1, 2025 | 8:02 AM

This July 4th, A CAPITOL FOURTH celebrates 45 years as America’s premier Independence Day celebration, and among the all-star performers gracing the stage is none other than four-time Grammy Award-winning gospel legend Yolanda Adams.

Known for her powerful voice and uplifting message, Adams will bring her signature blend of inspiration and soul to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, joining a distinguished lineup for the nation’s 249th birthday celebration. Her performance promises to be one of the night’s most moving highlights, delivering both spirit and soul in honor of America’s independence.

Broadcast live on PBS, the event will also be streamed for viewers worldwide, including American troops serving overseas. Backed by the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jack Everly, Adams’ appearance adds a deeply resonant gospel element to an already dazzling musical celebration, which includes fireworks, patriotic tributes, and performances across pop, country, R&B, classical, and gospel genres.

This year’s special also honors the 250th anniversaries of the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, pays tribute to the Greatest Generation on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, and salutes first responders across the nation.

A CAPITOL FOURTH airs live Friday, July 4, 2025, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET on PBS, and will be available to stream via YouTube and pbs.org/a-capitol-fourth from July 4 to July 18.

Join Yolanda Adams and America’s top talents for a truly unforgettable night of unity, celebration, and inspiration.
